First Corinthians 15:22-24

"For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power."

These verses touch on a repeating theme in the Bible. At Christ's second coming he collects all the members of his church, and delivers them to God. Not only does he do this though; it's demonstrated repeatedly in the book of Revelation that God wants absolute destruction of the 'ruler of this world', satan himself, and all his demons. Revelation gives a play by play of the order of this destruction, driving home over and over how much of an abomination it is to God how humans value wealth, status comfort, and human esteem over loving and caring for our fellow humans.

The end times narratives are always about how God and Christ do not just remove their church but they put an end to the rule of the earth by demonic powers who manipulate human beings to put self before others. When humans live this way, instead of letting love of other people guide us, we separate ourselves from God and Christ. Verses like this throughout the New Testament, along with those in Revelation, make it clear that God wants the selfishness of humanity and the demonic forces behind it absolutely destroyed.
