38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” 40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on urging them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!”
These verses resonated with me when I read them because of verse 40 in particular where Peter implores the listeners to 'be saved from this perverse generation'. What I'm watching in modern culture with regards to child exposure to the internet is truly appalling and disheartening. It was announced yesterday that France has decide to block the four top 'porn tube' sites entirely from their country because these sites have operated for years as sex crime aggregation sites showing content with people who were intoxicated or drugged, coerced, assaulted, and of course the level of filmed abuse of minor children on these sites is off the charts.
I am hopeful that because of these countries like India, France, the Philippines and others taking a stand against this content, perhaps legislators and law enforcement are finally being moved to act against this demonic content that makes billions of dollars for the soulless owners of these companies. This is just one example of how perverse our particular generation, (which more and more people are coming to realize exists at the end times), really is. Most of us who are Generation X or Baby Boomers or even Millennials would have never foreseen a time when websites like these would entice young males to not only watch this content but to commit crimes and upload them for monetization, becoming sex criminals and traffickers while sometimes still in teens or even adolescence.
John 10:10 says of Satan that: "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy." In so many ways the internet is stealing the souls of very young people before they even have a chance to for their minds to mature. I hope everyone will pray that France is successful in their stand against evil and child abuse, and I hope public knowledge about just how perverse the internet has enabled human beings to become will wake people up to the reality of our living in the last days, and provoke more people to accept Salvation and guidance from Jesus Christ.
