John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
This verse is a very simple foreshadowing of what is to come. Jesus has just washed his disciples' feet in the prior chapter and told them about how he is to be betrayed. Peter is very upset and tells Jesus that he will lay his life down for him, and Jesus tells Peter that, on the contrary, before the rooster crows in the morning he will have denied him three times.
Even so, Jesus tells his disciples not to let their hearts be troubled, but that all of this has to take place so that he can be resurrected and therefore bring Salvation to the entire world. Because of his sacrifice, he will come again someday and collect his church so that those who are willing to accept Salvation from Christ and follow him can spend eternity in Heaven with him.
It's because of his love for humanity that Christ is willing to endure the torment that is to come; because he takes this pain on himself to atone for the sins of humankind on the cross, we can be purified of our transgressions and be with him and God in eternity. I hope everyone will accept Christ as Savior, repent of sin and begin to follow him. Below are links to the sinner's prayer of Salvation and also a longer link that goes into more detail for those who need help understanding how to accept Salvation from Christ.
A Prayer for Salvation from Christ:
Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and for answering my prayer.
